MICHAEL CROWNER
Supervisor
Michael Crowner has served as Supervisor since May 2021. He is a dedicated public servant and community leader with a strong track record of responsible governance and fiscal stewardship. A resident of Wheatland Township since 2004, he currently resides in unincorporated Plainfield with his wife, three children, and their Goldendoodle, Thor.
Michael has been committed to ensuring efficient, transparent, and community-focused leadership. As Wheatland Township Supervisor, he has worked diligently to protect taxpayer dollars, improve essential services, and maintain the lowest tax rates in the county. Under his leadership, the township has stabilized its finances, expanded assistance programs, and strengthened government transparency.
In addition to his role as Supervisor, Michael serves as a Board Member for the Will County Community Development Block Grant / HOME Advisory Board.
With a background in business and public administration, Michael understands the importance of strategic planning and responsible budgeting to deliver high-quality services without increasing the financial burden on residents.

HARRY BENTON
Highway Commissioner
Harry Benton was sworn in as Wheatland Township Road Commissioner in May 2025. He is a lifelong Illinois resident and dedicated public servant. Growing up in Crest Hill, he learned the values of hard work, giving back, and standing up for the community. His leadership experience includes serving as a Plainfield Trustee, where he championed government transparency, small business growth, and infrastructure improvements. As a State Representative, Harry has focused on reducing property taxes, cracking down on hidden fees, and protecting working families. With deep community ties and a proven track record, Harry is ready to ensure Wheatland Township’s roads and infrastructure are maintained responsibly and efficiently.

TERRY JONES
Clerk
Terry became Clerk of Wheatland Township in May 2025 after previously serving as a Trustee. He resides in Bolingbrook with his wonderful son, daughter, and girlfriend, a teacher in Naperville’s 203 district. He is a graduate of Universal Technical Institute, where he earned a diploma in Automotive Technology. He has over 10 years of experience in the automotive industry in various roles and is an avid car enthusiast. He has always been actively engaged within his community and currently serves as an appointed Precinct Committeeperson & Deputy Registrar. Terry prides himself in looking out for the working class. He is committed to strong local government and civic duty, having recently served on the board of a local activist group that prepares citizens for roles in local politics. He strongly values perseverance, integrity, and empathy. Quote to live by: nothing great is ever achieved alone. This mantra is what inspired him to get involved in his community.

MARGARET TYSON
Trustee
Margaret has served as a Trustee of Wheatland Township since January 2025. Margaret Tyson is a long-time resident of Bolingbrook and a dedicated public servant with a proven track record of leadership and commitment to her community. As a former Will County Board Member representing District 3, Margaret championed initiatives on the Diversity & Inclusion Committee, Public Health & Safety Committee, and Finance Committee, showcasing her dedication to equity, fiscal responsibility, and public safety. A certified substitute teacher for over two decades, she has enriched the lives of students across multiple school districts while maintaining an active role in the Democratic Party of Wheatland Township, where she currently serves as Treasurer. Margaret combines her technical expertise with a passion for service, bringing a thoughtful and results-driven approach to every endeavor.

MARY FRANCES
Trustee
Mary Frances has served as Trustee of Wheatland Township since May 2025.
Mary has lived in the Shell Lake subdivision of Wheatland Township for over 30 years and knows the joys of living in an unincorporated area of Naperville and Wheatland. Mary raised her two sons here and loves sharing this often-unknown part of the area with her five grandchildren. Mary has worked on several local campaigns and as an election judge since 2018 and is eager to do more for the Wheatland community, following in her father’s footsteps as he was a trustee for the Village of Mt. Prospect many years ago.
Mary is passionate about supporting climate change initiatives at the local level by supporting alternative to leaf burning and finding ways to increase composting of food waste. Mary is eager to contribute to the work of the current board through excellent fiscal management and innovative ways of updating infrastructure in the township. A graduate of National Louis University and Chicago Theological Seminary, Mary works as a professional coach and consultant with congregations and denominations looking to thrive in the changing world around them. She believes she can use her talents for the sake of the community. Mary lives in Shell Lake with her husband, chiropractor Dr. Kent Christianson, and their two Labrador Retrievers.

JEFF KLEIN
Trustee
Jeff Klein has served as Wheatland Township Trustee since May 2025. Jeff Klein is a dedicated husband, father, and community member who has called Plainfield home for the past 17 years. Alongside his wife and their two children, Jeff has built a life grounded in family values, hard work, and a deep passion for making his community a better place.
Understanding the importance of strong, connected communities, Jeff has been actively involved in local events, school activities, and various community organizations since moving to Plainfield. Whether it’s supporting local causes or creating opportunities for youth, Jeff is committed to helping families thrive and ensuring a bright future for the next generation.
Jeff holds a degree in Civil Engineering from Bradley University (2004) and currently serves as a project manager at a local consulting engineering firm. His background in engineering allows him to approach challenges with a practical, solution-oriented mindset, whether in his professional work or when contributing to community projects.
As a resident of Plainfield, Jeff is always thinking about how he can contribute to the growth and well-being of his neighborhood. He believes that active community involvement is key to building lasting relationships and creating a positive, lasting impact for all.

MATT GLOWIAK
Trustee
Matt Glowiak has served as Wheatland Township Trustee since May 2025. Dr. Matt Glowiak is a Bolingbrook native who has spent most of his life living in the Wheatland Township area. Professionally, he is an Associate Professor and Training Director at Hazelden Betty Ford Graduate School and Associate Chair at Yorkville University. In the community, Matt serves as Will County Health Department & Community Health Center Governing Council member, Bolingbrook Tee-ball Association Little Tees Coordinator and Head Coach, F.O.C.U.O.S. Executive Board member, Wheatland Township #22 Precinct Committeeperson, and volunteers for Heart Haven H20 and Operational Snowball, among other organizations. As an advocate for human rights, DEI, and destigmatizing mental health and addiction disorders, Matt has made it his life’s mission to properly educate the public on pressing topics while supporting individuals and communities toward becoming the best versions of themselves

Mary Katzberg
Assessor
Mary Katzberg is serving in her first term as Wheatland Township Assessor. Mary was appointed to complete the unexpired term of previous assessor Chuck Kern. Mary is a Wheatland Township resident and has worked in the Township as a Deputy Assessor for 15 years.

DAVID SCRIVEN-YOUNG
Tax Collector and Cemetery Manager
Dave Scriven-Young has served as Collector since 2021 and serves as manager of the Wheatland Township Cemetery. He is an attorney practicing business, employment, construction, and environmental litigation, and he has lived with his wife and two sons in Naperville for over 15 years. He received his B.A. in political science and history from Marquette University and his law degree from DePaul University College of Law. Dave is an active leader in the community, having served as a Wheatland Athletic Association coach and umpire, a greeter and religious education teacher for his parish, a board member for Neuqua Valley High School parent organizations, and a hockey referee for the Amateur Hockey Association of Illinois.
